GEOCitation respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how we use it, and what your rights are under GDPR.

1. Data we collect
We collect: (a) account information (email, name, organization) via Clerk; (b) billing data via our payment provider; (c) technical data (hashed IP, user-agent) for security; (d) audit data (keywords, URLs, results) you submit to us.
2. How we use data
Data is used to: provide the Service, communicate with you, improve features, comply with legal obligations. We never sell your data to third parties.
3. Sharing with third parties
We share strictly necessary data with: Clerk (authentication), Supabase (database), Google Cloud (hosting), our payment provider. All subprocessors are under GDPR-compliant DPA.
4. Retention periods
Account data: retained while the account is active + 3 years after cancellation (accounting obligations). Technical logs: 30 days. SOC2 audit logs: 7 years.
5. Your rights
Under GDPR you have rights to: access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, and restriction of processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. Response within 30 days.
6. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures: encryption, restricted access, audit logs, key rotation, etc. In case of data breach, we notify the authority within 72h and affected individuals.
7. Minors
The Service is not intended for persons under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Transfers outside the EU
Our data is hosted exclusively in the EU (Google Cloud europe-west1 Belgium). No transfer outside the EU is made without appropriate safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
9. Changes
This policy may be modified. Major changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before taking effect.
